2021.10.20 00:46 sparkle_princess_ For those wondering about the Covid Booster + early pregnancy...!
This is totally anecdotal, but I got my booster at 7+6 and was just worried bc little babe is/was so small but I decided to get it because my doctor recommended it, it was available, and I'm all for protecting me and the babe - I think we can all be a little tough on ourselves when we are in charge of growing a human (like, I will normally take advil/tylenol all the time, but when pregnant I have to force myself to take 1 Tylenol when I'm in so much pain with a headache). I went in for an extra ultrasound today because I'm a nervous Nelly and everything was beautiful at 9+5 - I'm even measuring a day ahead! So if you are wondering if it will negatively affect your baby or cause something sinister, I'm just a little 2 week test case that it's all good after the booster!
Also for what it's worth, with my second shot I had a little fever, body aches and was down for the count for a day or two, and with the booster I just had a bit of a sore throat for a day or two - no fever or chills or anything.
Just wanted to share my experience in case it gives anyone the evidence or experience they need to feel confident getting the booster! Oh and mine was Pfizer!

2021.10.20 00:46 kflouros88 Business management pointless???
Hello, im a fresher studying business management in the UK and im really panicking about this but i feel like business management is just POINTLESS! I dont like it at all so far. I keep being told that its just the start and that i will be doing business analytics later and that i get to choose a direction (eg: marketing) in second year and stuff. The thing is... NONE OF THIS SOUNDS INTERESTING. I never wanted this course, i just didnt know what else to choose so i picked this because it is "broad"... Well maybe a bit too broad. It is also a course that has MUCH less workload than others, everyone tells me that and it makes it feel even more pointless. I feel like im not learning any useful skills!!! Sure u can argue that i get skills in accounting and business analytics and decisions and stuff but I DONT LIKE STUDYING THIS and i have no interest in learning this. i know that i might end up doing something completely different in the future and stuff, what concerns me is the next 3 years of my life. I feel like if i stay in this course its just going to be an easy stroll to get a diploma but also a waste of money since i wont grasp anything due to lack of interest.. i dont know what to do, i cant change courses anymore...even going to something more specific like finance sounds better (even though not very interested in it) any insights from graduates??

2021.10.20 00:46 tenderwinter How to set boundaries without causing conflict?
my boyfriend (m22) and i (f21) went out one night and I was pretty drunk by the end of it. We had missed out train back home and struggled to find an Uber ride. As my bf was going to book a ride on my phone, he noticed I didn’t have a payment plan set up bc I had just recently downloaded the app and had yet to use it. He handed my phone back and called me “useless” while proceeding to book a ride on his phone. He apologized about missing our train and cuddled me on the way back home but I was still upset.
It really hurt my feelings and this isn’t the first time he had named called me whenever he got frustrated with me. A couple months back he said I was “hopeless” bc I had lost him during our night bike ride home and couldn’t see where he turned so he had to come back and get me. It still hurt me that time but I brushed it off to not cause any conflict.
Now, it really upsets me and I want to let him know that I will not tolerate name calling . It’s been two days since the most recent, how do I bring it up without causing a flight or making him defensive?
He also told me that he doesn’t appreciate me as much as he should when picked him up after he blew his bike tires. This was the next morning after the night out.
Any advice is welcomed. I have a hard time with conflict and try my best to avoid it.

2021.10.20 00:46 PauseAwkward5226 Woke up pukey and couldn't walk straight-- vertigo?
30/F, 5'1'', 115lbs, caucasian, USA. No smoking or recreational drugs. I like a good craft beer but almost never have more than 1 drink per night. Often don't finish them because I'm small and have low tolerance. I never get drunk, my party days are no more.
Exercise: I run currently about 15 miles/week and do occasional weights. I've been upping my mileage but not drastically. I've done this many times, fluctuating between 15-40 miles/week based on season and free time. Never had an issue other than restless legs. Restless legs suck.
Medications: occasionally take iron pills because I've been iron deficient in the past. Occasionally take benadryl to help sleep. Daily birth control pill. Occasional ibuprofen for menstrual headaches. I will get my period a week from today.
Prior issues: basically all psychiatric. Mild-moderate disordered eating in the past-- I have *not* been restricting calories at all lately. Lots of depression/anxiety, which lately has been quite bad. It has been much worse, I'm unfortunately kind of used to this. Have had trouble sleeping since childhood. I have a therapist who is aware of all this.
MAIN Issue: on Sunday I was standing in line at the library and felt woozy, like I might faint. Thought it was weird, but it went away relatively quickly. The next morning I woke up feeling VERY nauseous. I felt like I needed to get something in my stomach or I'd start dry heaving. I got up, hurried toward the kitchen, and was absolutely terrified because I could not walk straight. Kept veering left, like I was drunk. I had *not* had anything to drink the night before. When I laid down, I felt like I was spinning. Kept running to the bathroom to puke but nothing came out. I called in sick to my side job I just started and felt terrible about it. Today I was much better but I still have mild balance issues. Like if I bend down to pick something up or turn too quickly, I wobble.
To me and the friends/family I spoke with, this sounds like vertigo. But I've never had vertigo before. Never had anything like this before. Can you just get vertigo for the first time suddenly at age 30? Should I be concerned? My mom has had something similar happen, she even went to the hospital and her docs determined it was a sudden drop in blood pressure. For context she has a prosthetic mitral valve and is on Coumadin, blood stuff happens to her a lot.
Thank for so much for any help you can provide! Sorry for the rant, I was freaking out yesterday!
